WANTED: BUDGET COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The School Board of Directors is currently seeking applicants to fill Budget Committee Member
vacancies (positions 1 and 2).
Application Period: July 21, 2025 – August 12, 2025
Eligibility: To be eligible for appointment, the candidate must not be a current officer or
employee of the district. An applicant needs to be a registered voter and must have a resident
within the district’s service area. Duties and responsibilities of the Budget Committee includes
hearing the budget message, reviewing the proposed budget document, providing input, hearing
public input and ultimately approving the budget. In addition, the Budget Committee shall
approve an amount or rate of total ad valorem property taxes to be certified for collection for the
fiscal year.
A typical full term of office for a budget committee member is three years, effective July 1 of the
first year through June 30 of the third year. The School Board appoints each Budget Committee
Member who is expected to attend all budget meetings each year held during the months
of May and June of their term of office.
