Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination based on disability. More information can be found be visiting the ODE webpage, or the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights website
If you are concerned about your child’s ability to access their education due to the impact of their disability and you would like to refer your child for an evaluation under section 504, please contact your school building administrator or the district 504 coordinator
